What is CNAS Laboratory Accreditation?
CNAS laboratory accreditation is the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment.
China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (abbreviated as: CNAS), is a national accreditation body approved and authorized by the State Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China under the provisions of the "Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Certification and Accreditation", which is unified and responsible for the accreditation of certification bodies, laboratories and inspection bodies and other related institutions.
CNAS is formed by the merger of the former China National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (CNAB) and the former China National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (CNAL), which evaluates and supervises the management and activities of conformity assessment bodies (such as certification bodies, laboratories and inspection bodies) to confirm their ability to carry out the corresponding conformity assessment activities (such as certification, testing and calibration, inspection, etc.) and to confirm their conformity assessment activities, CNAS plays a binding role in accreditation by evaluating and supervising the management and activities of conformity assessment bodies (such as certification bodies, laboratories, inspection bodies) and confirming the authority of their conformity assessment activities.
