A36 Steel Plate – Durable, Weldable, for Construction & Industrial Use
ASTM A36
S235JR、SS400、Q235、ST37-2、S235J2、Q235D
A36 is a carbon structural steel plate whose chemical composition and mechanical properties comply with American ASTM standards. This kind of steel plate has good mechanical properties, welding performance and corrosion resistance, and is widely used in construction, bridges, machinery manufacturing and other fields.
A36 steel is typically hot rolled, which imparts strain on the steel, increasing dislocation density and resulting in work hardening. The hot rolling process also creates grain elongation, offering a rougher surface finish but at a lower cost compared to cold rolling.
Heat Treatment of A36 Plate
ASTM A36 material is annealed at temperatures ranging from 1,550 to 1,600°F. This process reduces brittleness, reduces hardness, and influences the steel's microstructure through recrystallization. A specific cooling rate controls the growth of new grains, thereby limiting internal stresses in A36 steel.
